Ravi and Aisha, two people with South Asian heritage begin dating. Over shared meals they discuss their love of food, complicated multicultural identity and fears about family expectations. Ravi’s parents, Mohinder and Bali, have had their own complicated love story. They are very enthusiastic about their son’s new romance but their joy is so great, they end up entangling themselves in Ravi’s new relationship. While Bali jumps into wedding planning, Mohinder tries to keep things light. When Aisha finds out about the parent’s expectations, Ravi scrambles to do damage control. Ultimately all of their different perspectives collide at an explosive family dinner.
